Met the Dr. [13w4d]

After waiting 45 minutes for the dr. to get to us (apparently she fell way behind today), we finally met the OB. She seems very nice and talkative, so I like her. Brian was a little perturbed that there are 5 Drs. in the clinic and if you don't have a baby during business hours or your dr. is not the one on call, someone else will be at the delivery. It actually doesn't seem like such a big deal to me, but I still hope we end up with the dr. we got to know.
Everything went well. I now know my blood type, am not anemic, have no STDs, and still good blood pressure. Snowpea's heartbeat was loud and clear at 160 bpm. We scheduled another appt. with the dr. for four weeks from now and scheduled the ultrasound (the big important one!) for July 17! Yay! I'll be 20w4d and that baby had better cooperate!
Not much else to tell...apparently I'm just too normal to keep up an interesting blog. :)

Oops...slow me! [13w3d]

So, it's been a while. Almost as if I went on vacation or something. Snowpea and I made it through our first big plane rides together on Thursday, I got to see a bunch of my good ol' college buddies that evening and Friday, and then it was off to a wedding for Friday/Saturday! Busy busy. Needless to say, we made it back to stinky Indiana safe and sound (with pockets a little lighter from ridiculous gas prices!).
Here's the newest belly pic. (And yes, I am wearing a red shirt with black and pink pants! So sue me!!! It's comfy...)
You may notice once again, bloat in this picture, however, I must inform you that this bloating will not leave....leaving me wondering if maybe it is possibly not bloat. Hmmm...
First real doctor's appointment is tomorrow, so I should be on here again soon!

Attempt at being awesome [12w1d]

I am attempting to be awesomely technologically savvy right now, so bear with me...
I tried to use two electronic devices at the same time - my doppler and my new sansa (thanks uncle Bill!) to record little one's heartbeat. It's not very clear (someone was hiding) and at the end it gets mixed in with my heartbeat, but if this works I will still be endlessly proud of myself. :)

Brian's off to MN [11w4d]

Brian left for MN this morning and I had my first day of riding my bike to work. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but it was starting to drizzle as I rode home and started pouring about a half hour after I locked myself in the house. At least I'm finally getting some exercise in my daily routine! And after I saw the $53 mark on the gas pump yesterday, I might be riding my bike a bit more! (As long as my balance doesn't become an issue of course!) I had to go to Sam's Club this afternoon with a co-worker to pick up a bunch of pop for work, and I am so glad she came. There is no way I could have pushed the equivalent of two carts of pop around the store and to the car. Sad part of the story though: after eating my lunchable at work, I decided I was hungry again an hour later and bought a giant hot dog from Sam's. Well, I'm not the greatest at planning and couldn't manage to push the cart full of pop, my lemonade, and an open hotdog all while maneuvering through the parking lot and my hot dog fell on my leg!!! And of course, it was covered in ketchup, mustard, and relish. Happily though, I took my co-worker's suggestion and brought it back in and they gave me another one for free! Helped my hungry belly, but not my mustardy pants...
Here's this week's picture - taken a little late at 11w3d:

Happy Early Mother's Day [10w5d]

I know Mother's Day isn't until Sunday, but we're heading out to Ohio tonight and the cards could possibly arrive today! Morning sickness is still gone for the moment and I've stopped taking my B6! Yay! I swear though, if it comes back, I am just going to be so annoyed!! Anyway! For the grandmas-to-be reading this, happy mother's day! I hope you like your present! We love you!
