Falling

How Everett spent the majority of Jakey's graduation party: falling down.

Puddle Stomping

When, exactly, did this boy get sooo big?!

 Ahem.

Anyway.

Today, it thunderstormed.  What do you do when it pours rain and then lets up a bit?  Puddle stomp, of course!

New toys

Everett and I had a busy morning yesterday, lugging ourselves all over town for the city-wide garage sale. It was kind of back-breaking (that kid is getting heavy!), but I came away with two armfuls of clothes for the boy, three shirts for me, and way more plastic toys than I should have. I found one of these for $1,

but it needed four D cell batteries, so it was more like $5. He is loving that thing.

I also found him some ball pit balls. Then I threw them all into his tent. He just giggled when I tossed him in too. Evidence of the fun that ensued:

We also went to the free car seat clinic to check on his seat.  The inspectors were fascinated by his cool carseat,

were overall pleased with the setup in the car (raised the chest connector and tightened the straps), but praised me for doing so much research and still having him rear-facing.  In fact, one of the inspectors told me that I was obviously a great mom.  Tear!  While we were there, we also got to check out the firetrucks!  Everett got a badge sticker too (see picture above).  And we'll get to see the firetruck again at playgroup at the end of the month!  Yay!  Anyway.  Time to relax with the hubby!

Budda

I am the worst camera operator in the world, but this is too awesome to not post.
Everett has a slight obsession with peanut butter, aka "budda."

Oh, and apparently, he likes Usher.

My Mother's Day

This pretty much sums up my mother's day.  After an early afternoon trip to Ace, Wal-Mart, lunch at the Black Cat, and delivering cards to the grandmas, Everett took a nap and Brian and I demolished the backyard.  See lovely little tractor and pile of soil.  We then went to dinner with dr. grandma and Everett and I paused to take a picture (with my new purse that Everett "bought" for me).

It's Mama Day!

Happy mother's day to all the wonderful mamas out there!  My day has started out just fine.  Everett did wake up at 4:45 am (UGH!), but Brian checked on him and he didn't actually get up until 6:30-ish.  Then I nursed him and Brian got up and took him downstairs where they played, set up the big fish tank, and made breakfast.  I got up at 8:30 and took a shower and came downstairs to an omelet, bagel, and coffee.  I also got my present: (I got a bunch of flowers yesterday) handmade chocolates from a shop in town.  Brian picked out an assortment of dark chocolates (at least he knows that much about my likes! heehee!) and had the girl put together a "springy" bunch of flowers.  I have to say, the best part so far has been the extra two hours of sleep.  Ahhhh.  I think we might use some chamber dollars to go out to lunch a bit later.  It's still ickily chilly here, but it's warming up and should be ok for a walk downtown by noon.
Hope my mama friends are having a great day so far!  And a big "I love you" to all the mamas in my world - my mama, grammas, mother-in-law, and my mama friends, especially the playgroup mamas!
