Wish List Wednesday

Time again for Wish List Wednesday! Reminder that I nabbed this idea from Jennifer over on the Foster Family blog...she's a smart one!

This week, I think I'll wish for a Kindle 2.0,
a railing for the front porch, and a nap...wait....that one doesn't cost anything! Maybe I should get on that....

Babysitters

Today I had to go to the dentist, and besides waiting 1 1/2 hours before being seen, it was ok. Ev apparently had a much better time at home with the babysitters though (except for refusing his bottle and his lunch....). Ev got to hang out with Auntie J, Uncle S, and Uncle T, and they had a grand ol' time. The best part? They even took pictures! Enjoy!

Tour de France

I realized I didn't have a good picture of Ev and me (minus sunglasses) since our vacation to SC, so I had Brian take this today:

Art Festival

I just got harassed for not blogging in three days, so I guess I'd better get on it.
First, an Everett update. He can now stay on his hands and knees and rock a tiny bit, but no movement in either a forward or backward direction. He also has discovered that he adores standing and even tries to take steps. Who knows, maybe he'll just walk first! I think the teething has started in full swing again because he is gnawing on anything and everything, drooling like old faithful, and whiney whiney whiney!
We went up to Bayfield today for the arts festival. I didn't buy anything from the festival, but I did pick up an awesome board book at a store: Eco Baby Wears Green. Heehee.
Our main reason for going was to see our old HS friend (and my college friend!), Chloe! Ev liked her...and her glasses... ...and her boots. What can I say, my boy knows fashion!

I think I would enjoy a Wii FitSince the child is getting rather large, I am researching nice back carriersAnd of course, a maid so I wouldn't have to clean the bathrooms today

Bay Days Sprint Triathlon

Yesterday, Brian competed in the first annual Bay Days Sprint Triathlon! While sprints are not his forte, he still did very well. He ended up placing 10th overall and 2nd in his age class. The location was perfect for spectators. The hill over the bay was great to sit and watch the swim, walk up the hill to see the bike, and back on the hill to see the run.

Brian is the third in line out of the water here:Running to the transition:Transition:

WI summer run

This is what it looks like when you go for a run on a summer day in Wisconsin:(The bundleme and hat finally fit at the same time!)

My angel child

I thought I'd share with you some reasons why my son is pretty much an angel child most of the time. Here's how our schedule has been the past few days.
6:45 am - Brian's alarm goes off
7:15 am - I hear Ev cooing and talking in his room. Go get him to nurse in bed. He snoozes for a few minutes then starts grabbing my face and hair until we change his diaper and go downstairs. Brian eats breakfast while Ev and I play in the living room.
Around 8-8:30, we eat our breakfasts then play some more.
9-9:30: Ev goes down for his morning nap. I change his diaper, set him in his PnP (crib is still not assembled in his new room), give him his nuk and seahorse, and he goes to sleep without a peep.
During this time today I watched some vintage J&K+8, did the dishes, swept and vacuumed, took a shower, and finished Ev's painting.
About 11 am: Ev wakes up from his nap, cooing and talking again. Diaper, clothes on, and nursing, then he plays on the living room floor while I blog, facebook, play with him.
Around 11:30-noon: we'll eat our lunches. Today we will then walk down to see daddy at work and visit Maxwell Street Days for some mini donuts and shopping (as long as it doesn't start pouring....darn necessary rain).
About 1:30: Ev will go down for his afternoon nap (same routine as morning nap, unless we're still shopping and he falls asleep in the stroller). During this time today, if I'm not shopping, I will clean out all the painting materials in hopes that our carpet will be installed soon, organize some paper mess in the living room, and maybe do some laundry. He'll probably wake up around 3. Then it's diaper, nursing, and playing again.
Ev's dinner will be at about 5-6 then he gets a bath and plays until it's time to nurse and go to sleep. Recently he's been whining/fussing a bit after we lay him down for bed, but he still goes to sleep on his own very well.
He sleeps all night (sometimes waking about 1 or 2 but he just needs his nuk and a pat and he's back to sleep) and that makes everyone much more cheerful during the day.

Check out this scooting boy:
