Ok, so I totally forgot about doing this update today and now you all probably think I have a cute little baby to snuggle. No such luck. Not even close. Contractions this morning that went away by 6am. I think he's planning to stay in there forever.
How far along? 40 weeks. Due date today.
Total weight gain/loss: Around 28-29 lbs
How big is baby? Likely somewhere in the 7.5-8 lb range, somewhere above 20".
Maternity clothes? I have now given up on wearing anything but my maternity yoga pants, tank tops and some sort of sleeves over top.
Stretchmarks? yes.
Sleep? Monday night was horrendous. I don't think I slept at all. I left work at noon yesterday and slept for three hours. Last night I took some tylenol before bed and managed to sleep ok. Baby moved his bum out of my ribcage too, so I'm still ok at work for now. Meeting my doula at 1 and then probably coming back in for the rest of the day since I don't feel utterly exhausted and miserable today.
Best moment this week? Umm.... right. Everett's been a pistol and a sweetie at the same time. Last night he used daddy's cell phone to voice call my cell phone and left a very long message.
Movement? Still kicking his feet out my right side and wiggling.
Food cravings? Not coffee, oddly enough. Since I got sick (again) on Friday, I have not wanted any coffee. I've been enjoying some jello cups my mama picked up for me.
Bellybutton? Same.
Boy/Girl? Boy.
Labor signs? I wish. Just the usual.
What I miss? Sleeping, sitting comfortably.
What I am looking forward to? Being done with this pregnancy!
Milestones: Houston, we have reached our due date. Something that didn't quite happen with Ev, so I guess that's....neat?

39 weeks
Oops, I'm an hour late this morning and all my blog stalkers are probably thinking I've gone into labor. Well, gone into being a flexible term. I've kind of been in labor for a week and a half (in my opinion). Still no outside baby though!
Also, a quick mention of my lovely little toddler boy. We have plenty of fights with him about mess making, tantrum throwing, disobeying, etc. but sometimes that boy makes me forget all of those instances. Last night, I felt like crap and came downstairs after changing into pajama pants and a large t-shirt. Everett looked at me, pointed, and said, "pretty Mama! pretty!" My eyes got a little bigger, I looked down at my shirt and said, "my shirt is pretty?" He just repeated, "pretty mama!" Brian stated that he's teaching Everett to always tell me I'm pretty. My boys are pretty awesome.
So here's the weekly update.
How far along? 39 weeks. 6 days short of when Everett was born.
Total weight gain/loss: 27-ish lbs. Lost one this week! I just can't fit as much food in my stomach anymore.
How big is baby? Baby is probably now over 7 lbs and over 20 inches. He's the size of a nice little mini watermelon. Belly is measuring 39.5cm though, so I think he's a little on the big side. I don't think I ever measured that big with Ev, which would explain the lovely stretch marks I've grown this time.
Maternity clothes? Yes. I have decided to wear as many maternity clothes as I can before baby's born because I can still wear my big, regular clothes after baby is born, but won't want to wear maternity stuff.
Stretchmarks? yessss.......
Sleep? I was ready to give up yesterday after being up much of the night and finally just giving up at 6 am. It's amazing how much different I feel when I get a good night's sleep (like Sat/Sun nights and last night) versus when I am up with contractions repeatedly (every other night since last Tuesday or so). So yesterday = bad day, today = not too shabby. I'm not begging baby to get out today.
Best moment this week? Everything's ready. Well, except the house being clean, but you know....
Movement? He's still wiggling in there. He obviously doesn't have as much kicking space, but he still manages to wiggle a bit.
Food cravings? Coke and chocolate. Healthy, right? At least I'm still eating some good things like smoothies, flax/wheat cereal, grapefruits, carrots....
Bellybutton? Same.
Boy/Girl? Boy.
Labor signs? We're slowwwwwllllly making progress.
What I miss? Sleep, bladder capacity, non-aching belly skin, having the energy to play with my Ever monster.
What I am looking forward to? Baby.
Milestones: We're done. Cooked. Ready. Time to be born. Hear me, little guy????

38 weeks
How far along? 38 weeks. We're only 1 week, 6 days shy of when Everett was born.
Total weight gain/loss: 28-ish lbs
How big is baby? Baby's now around 6.8 lbs and 19 1/2 inches long (for your generic baby, of course). At our appointment on Monday, Dr. (who is back to work! phew!) estimated baby at a bit over 6.5 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yep. And not always matching either. ;)
Stretchmarks? and growing...
Sleep? I feel so tired all the time but the past two nights, Everett has slept through the night again! We've moved his bedtime a half hour later (now 8 pm) and while it's harder on us, it seems to be serving him ok. We had to wake him up this morning at around 7:15!
Best moment this week? Getting some stuff done. Worked on wool diaper covers yesterday and I just need to lengthen a pair of Ev's before I do a big wash/lanolinizing. I guess it was nice to find out I was at 4cm....sort of.
Movement? Yeeeeessssssssss...........the head-butting is reeeeeally starting to get annoying now.
Food cravings? Coke. I know, terrible, but I'm addicted right now. On a recent wal-mart trip, I bought a pack of those little 8 oz (?) bottles and a 12 pack of sparkling grapefruit waters. YUM.
Bellybutton? Same.
Boy/Girl? Boy.
Labor signs? Besides the crazy dilation? Not a lot.
What I miss? Sleeping, being able to bend and reach things, not constantly feeling like I need to go to the bathroom.
What I am looking forward to? Kind of starting to look forward to this whole not being pregnant thing.
Milestones: Baby's pretty much ready to be born. All organs should be developed and mature.

37 weeks - TERM!
How far along? 37 weeks, aka full term, aka baby can be born time!
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure
How big is baby? Baby's now around 6 1/3 lbs and somewhere around 19 inches long. Like swiss chard, apparently.
Maternity clothes? Of course. Although I do still wear my plaid fleece pajama pants every evening!
Stretchmarks? Yep.
Sleep? Decent! Everett even slept all night last night, which was glorious! Don't get me started on how he slept through the night at a young age and very recently decided that it's fun to wake up once or twice every night and knock on his door, calling for us.
Best moment this week? Got our room organized, the crib set up to sidecar, desk upstairs, diapers prepped, hat finished.....woohoo!
Movement? Still a bunch. And he's big. If we go to 40 weeks, I really think he'll be bigger than Ev.
Food cravings? I made a chocolate cake yesterday. To celebrate January 31....or something.... Does that tell you anything?
Bellybutton? Not quite as "popped," more "stretched" now.
Boy/Girl? Boy, although people keep trying to convince me "he" will come out a "she" and I won't know what to do.
Labor signs? Not a lot. He's low (my own judgment) and I think he'll come before 40 weeks.
What I miss? Being able to run up and down stairs without getting totally out of breath. Not a lot. I'm enjoying these last weeks!
What I am looking forward to? Getting the rest of the baby to-do and daycare to-do lists done!
Milestones: TERM!!!
And just as a sidenote: my doctor is ill. Like, mono ill. So that's not so awesome.

36 weeks
How far along? 36 weeks, aka Ashland can handle a baby born at this gestation
Total weight gain/loss: Somewhere around 28 pounds
How big is baby? Baby's now around 6 lbs, like a ... crenshaw melon...? Umm....yeah. Length somewhere around 18.5 inches.
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Stretchmarks? I think they've grown a little but they're hard to see from my vantage point here.
Sleep? Actually ok. I'm always tired though. I could really use a daily afternoon nap.
Best moment this week? Getting baby stuff purchased. Good check up showing progress.
Movement? He's calmed down a little in the movement, but still going. He currently has his bum stuck up under my left ribs which really stinks, but at least he's head down!
Food cravings? Orange juice.
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? Boy
Labor signs? Well, I'm at 3 cm, contractions on a daily basis, but that doesn't really mean anything as we learned with Everett. I could go into labor or I could stay this way for four weeks. However, if the boy doesn't move that little bum of his soon, I'm going to start poking him. He's head down and ready to go!
What I miss? Being able to sit up straight. Being able to sign myself up for a class or anything because who knows, I might be in labor, have a newborn, be overdue....
What I am looking forward to? Getting our room organized so I can get the baby's room organized. Having diapers prepped and ready. Being done with this whole day care certification ordeal.
Milestones: Ashland's hospital could take care of a 36 week baby so there would be no staying an hour and a half away!
Total weight gain/loss: Somewhere around 28 pounds

35 weeks
How far along? 35 weeks, aka 35/35 (35 weeks along, 35 days left!)
Total weight gain/loss: Unsure. With this week's stomach bug, I'm guessing I haven't gained any.
How big is baby? Baby's now around 5 1/4 lbs. That's about the weight of a honeydew melon. Length is probably over 18 inches. Like I couldn't tell from the jabs, kicks, and rolls.
Maternity clothes? Yes. Well, I'm still in regular fleece jammie pants (which I've been in for the past three days)....actually, Tuesday night I am non-maternity everything lounge clothes!
Stretchmarks? No changes I've noticed.
Sleep? Decent last night but I was exhausted from being sick.
Best moment this week? Everett has started telling us stories (we catch a word or two here and there). He's also fallen in love with his first Dr. Suess book - Mr Brown Can Moo!
Movement? Strong and constant...even when I am nauseated. At least he's reassuring me that's he's doing just fine.
Food cravings? Coke. With ice.
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Nothing new.
What I miss? This week, being healthy. In general, energy.
What I am looking forward to? Getting totally healthy again, Brian coming home from his work trip.
Milestones: About a month to go! All that's left now is really to put on weight and mature the lungs.

34 weeks
How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up around 26-27 lbs now
How big is baby? Baby's now around 4.75 lbs. That's about the weight of a cantaloupe. Length is close to 18 inches. Getting big!
Maternity clothes? Yes and I may have just won a lot of 5 maternity shirts on ebay (less than $20!).
Stretchmarks? Still just the ones above my belly button. Yes, above it.
Sleep? Horrid. I really don't remember sleep being this bad with Everett. Maybe that's because I didn't have to try and sleep and hear a crazy 2 year old a couple times per night knocking on his door. (Not every night, but most.)
Best moment this week? Everett was super cute at the doctor on Monday. He was very excited to go through his routine of moving the chair over to the exam table, climbing up, helping measure the belly, hold the doppler, point out the goo.... We also had a lot of fun at one of Everett's friend's 3rd birthday party (too bad he was the only boy over the age of 12 months there!).
Movement? Painful the last couple days! I think this is going to be one strong baby (which is good because Everett is still having troubles understanding that it's not ok to push people over).
Food cravings? Grilled cheese.
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? Super strong boy.
Labor signs? BH contractions have not increased, but I still have them regularly. He feels low already.
What I miss? Sleep, deep water brews, energy
What I am looking forward to? Finishing my day care course and getting that stuff figured out. Being done with work.
Milestones: Babies born at 34 weeks generally do fine. Some NICU stays, some short term health issues, but generally fine in the long run. My minimum goal is 36 weeks because I sure as heck am not delivering in Duluth.

33 weeks
How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Haven't weighed myself in a while....not sure!
How big is baby? Baby's now likely up to over 4 lbs!!! That's about the weight of a pineapple (which I also brought as a snack today....ooohhh). Length is topping 17 inches. What a big baby!
Maternity clothes? Yep. And many layers to try and hide skin.
Stretchmarks? Same.
Sleep? No bueno. I woke up around 2 am last night because I was having a suspenseful dream (too much Bones before bed...) and couldn't fall back asleep for a long time. I wake up many times a night, find myself on my back, and am just generally not well rested. Sigh.
Best moment this week? Having daddy home for three days straight was really nice. We got a lot of projects started/done and Everett got lots of daddy snuggles. We all had a nice quiet breakfast at the BC on Sunday morning and Everett's back to taking his afternoon naps without too much fuss (most of the time).
Movement? Still a bunch! Every now and then I will get a soccer kick to my right side and go OW! Other times, he's just wiggling and squirming, rolling and turning, and pushing his head(?) really hard against my bladder.
Food cravings? Leftover christmas chocolates. What?
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Besides having to use the bathroom every.single.time. I stand up? I believe he's slowly dropping and think that he will be born before Feb 23.
What I miss? Good sleep.
What I am looking forward to? Getting my coursework for this day care stuff and getting it done before baby comes. Getting the nursery finished. Getting started on my many sewing projects that need doing before baby arrives (diapers, diaper covers, boppy cover).
Milestones: We've officially reached bad sleep, annoying bladder pressure, and ribs getting squished. Yay for third trimester!

Everett-isms and 32 weeks
I realized I had better get these written down before I forgot them. Some of the hilarious things Everett has said/pronounced recently.
Pinecones and/or popcorn = "pine-corn"
Grandpa = "gun-kuh"
Everett = "Ebit"
Christmas lights = "kit-mut iiiites!"
Penguin/snowman (he gets them confused) = "pingin" and "noman"
Candy = "candeeeeee!"
In the middle of dinner at a restaurant. Everett: "mama! naked! doctor!" Mama (in hushed voice): "yessss, I was naked at the doctor's today! shhh!"
Funny story to go with this one. I was at the doctor for baby's check up and wearing a paper sheet over my lap. As I talked with the doctor, Everett kept running up to me, ripping off a piece of the sheet, crumpling it, and throwing it in the garbage. Finally the doctor says, "I think I'd better go before he throws away the entire sheet."
Talking with nana. Everett: "nana? gum?" Nana: "no, I don't have gum." Everett: "in purse."
"Ebit! Eat! Chocolate!"
Everett: "Ewww! Poop! Snow! Doggy poop!" Mama: "No, that's not doggy poop, it's just mud." Everett: "doggy poop mud snow."
There are many more, but I can't remember them at the moment. He's full of hilarity right now and we're loving the 3 and 4 word sentences!
So on to the pregnancy update.
How far along? 32 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: About 23-24 lbs.
How big is baby? This week baby weighs around 3.75 lbs - a jicama? You think that is a good comparison? Who has held a jicama? - and length is around 16.7 inches.
Maternity clothes? Yes, and I'm running out of options for long-sleeved shirts that cover my belly and don't stretch their side seams to bits.
Stretchmarks? Same.
Sleep? Got a new pillow! I got one of those memory foam types and so far, it's been nice. I've been almost sleeping through the night again. So now I've got the new pillow, plus a body pillow for between my legs, plus a regular pillow behind my back.....yeah....we need a king sized bed.
Best moment this week? Christmas was looong, but nice. Everett was so patient and well-behaved during present opening, he would have melted anyone's heart.
Movement? Yep...still crazy. I get hard jabs on the right and big stretches all over. Pretty sure the little guy is head down now so I'm pretty sure I'm getting kicked on the right all the time.
Food cravings? Warm drinks and water.
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? We're getting there. Body understands that we're getting much closer (but not close enough). We'll just leave it at that.
What I miss? My shirts fitting.
What I am looking forward to? Being done with work. I only worked two days last week and two days this week, but seriously....I am done. I have lost my drive and interest. I just want to go home and sleep.
Milestones: We're into the "gain a pound per week" time frame now and a lot of that weight is going to little dude in there. He's fattening up which smooths out the wrinkly skin, has finger/toenails, and hopefully some hair. Uterus is now officially big enough that I'm getting uncomfortable. Not looking forward to the whole feet in my ribs thing.

31 weeks
How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Lost some weight being sick last week. Up around 22 lbs.
How big is baby? This week baby weighs around 3.3 lbs - four navel oranges? do we not have the right sized produce anymore? - and length is over 16 inches.
Maternity clothes? Yes, although I did see a picture of my black (non-maternity) turtleneck and said, "wait a minute! I wore that shirt full-term with Everett....where is that shirt?" Found it! It fits!
Stretchmarks? Same.
Sleep? Not great. I wake up a lot now throughout the night and wake up sore in the mornings.
Best moment this week? Not being sick! Getting all the presents done and wrapped.
Movement? Crazy movements. This boy just can't get comfy or something because he is constantly wiggling, flexing, kicking, and turning.
Food cravings? Christmas treats!
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Just lots of BH contractions in the evenings.
What I miss? Not being tired, sleeping well, a non-sore back....am I sounding whiny already? :)
What I am looking forward to? Christmas! Everett is so into it this year. He absolutely loves all the presents, lights, bell ringers, snow, santas, etc. I can't wait to see him dig into the gifts on Saturday morning.
Milestones: Baby is now pretty much done with the big developments and is into the maturing/fattening phase. He's headed for a big growth spurt (ouch?) and gaining chub.

30 weeks
How far along? 30 whole weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: About 23 lbs
How big is baby? This week baby weighs around 3 lbs - the weight of a cabbage - and length is a little more than 15.7 inches head to heels.
Maternity clothes? Yep. My new sweater arrived too, so I have one more top in my wardrobe. I also found out that a regular small fleece vest still zips up just fine and bought one at ON on Sunday.
Stretchmarks? No new ones I've seen.
Sleep? Very bad the past two days but I've been sick. I wake up every 30-60 minutes and look at the clock. This morning I did convince Ev that 5 am was still too dark and he had to go back to bed, waking again around 7:10.
Best moment this week? Generally good check up on Monday. Everett was excited to help hold the doppler and smiled about the heartbeat.
Movement? A lot and all over. It actually wasn't helping with this whole nausea thing, but at least I know he's still ok.
Food cravings? Olive Garden's soup, salad, and breadsticks.....mmmm....had them for lunch on Sunday. Currently, absolutely nothing. I'm trying to nibble a granola bar.
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Some nasty contractions last night from being dehydrated but those happily went away.
What I miss? Sleeping well.
What I am looking forward to? Not being sick, not having to wake up for work
Milestones: We're into the 30's! Eek! That means 7 weeks until term. WHAT?
Total weight gain/loss: About 23 lbs

29 weeks
How far along? 29 weeks (aka the last of the 20's!)
Total weight gain/loss: My scale says somewhere around 22-23 lbs. Wow!
How big is baby? This week baby weighs around 2.5 lbs - a butternut squash! Yum! Length is a little more than 15 inches head to heels.
Maternity clothes? I got made fun of yesterday for wearing a sweater that zips from the top and bottom and having it zipped only right in the middle where it would fit. I want my new old navy sweater to show up!!
Stretchmarks? You know.
Sleep? Okay. Throw in a couple bathroom breaks, eerily vivid dreams, and a sore back to complicate matters, but yeah...still sleeping.
Best moment this week? My birthday was pretty good. Had fun with girlfriends, Brian got our motion sensor floodlight AND doorbell working, cake, black cat, and a nap.
Movement? Lots. Except on Sunday when he freaked me out because he wasn't moving and I wanted him to.
Food cravings? Pasta this week. And chocolate (but that's kind of a given).
Bellybutton? No change.
Boy/Girl? Hasn't changed that I know of.
Labor signs? Nah.
What I miss? Being able to stand up and walk without worrying about pinching a nerve in my back. This baby's getting heavy.
What I am looking forward to? Getting christmas presents done and wrapped. I'm kind of running out of time.
Milestones: Sciatic nerve pain. The little guy is now stealing about 250mg of calcium/day now to harden his little skeleton.

28 weeks
How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think it's still around 19-20 lbs.
How big is baby? This week baby weighs around 2.25 lbs - the size of a...chinese cabbage?....umm....yeah. Length is about 14.8 inches head to heels.
Maternity clothes? Took advantage of cyber Monday and ordered myself a new tank and sweater to expand my wardrobe. It's beginning to feel like I'm wearing the exact same thing every.day.
Stretchmarks? Same ol'.
Sleep? Still good! Everett even slept in this morning and we all rolled out of bed just before 7 (not so good when you have to be at work by 8, but hey).
Best moment this week? Everett's 2nd birthday! And Thanksgiving, but that was nowhere near as fun as watching my little guy enjoy a day all about him and hearing him sing happy birthday to himself over the monitor.
Movement? Getting cramped in there I'm guessing because movements are big and hurt!
Food cravings? Loved the cranberry-ness that is thanksgiving. Still using it on leftovers.
Bellybutton? .
Boy/Girl? boy-a-licious
Labor signs? Just braxton hicks getting things prepped.
What I miss? Being able to easily pop up off the couch. This evening I sat down to open the mail, read a christmas letter, pinched something in my back as I tried to get up, and promptly sunk back in to the couch. Ow.
What I am looking forward to? A busy week! Glee tonight (yes, we're dorks like that), volleyball tomorrow, doctor for Everett on Thursday, birthday dinner with the mamas on Friday, my birthday, christmas parade, and game night on Saturday!
Milestones: Officially in 3rd trimester by anyone's calculations now! Will likely gain about a pound per week now (yikes!). After the appointment on the 13th, we start going every other week (joy of joys). Oh, and the little guy has eyelashes and can sense light from outside his little cocoon.
Total weight gain/loss: I think it's still around 19-20 lbs.

27 weeks
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Haven't weighed recently...probably 18-19 lbs.
How big is baby? This week baby is at about 2 lbs! A head of cauliflower....mmm....cauliflower....with butter and salt.... oh um.... length! Length is about 14.5 inches with legs stretched out.
Maternity clothes? Still just barely getting away with my beloved thermal tops and a tank underneath. I went to a thrift store and bought some medium sweaters to stretch over the belly.
Stretchmarks? No new ones that I've noticed.
Sleep? Back to good. Everett is generally staying in bed all night or going right back to bed if it's the middle of the night. If it's sometime after 5:30-ish, I just let him come in and snuggle until the alarm goes off. Dreams are vivid, but I'm sleeping like a rock (a rock on its left side with a body pillow between its legs).
Best moment this week? Big crazy alien baby rolling movements and Everett's word explosion. The boy can repeat anything you say!
Movement? Yes, and getting very strong. You really don't know weird until something is moving of its own volition in your abdomen.
Food cravings? Really excited for thanksgiving feast!! And Ev and I made some chocolate chip cookies last night.
Bellybutton? No comment.
Boy/Girl? Crazy active little boy #2
Labor signs? Nada
What I miss? Having the ability/desire to pick things up off the floor. Now I just stare at it and say, "Everett! Come pick this up for mama!" Carrying my boy easily. I have to hoist his legs up over my belly to carry him home from daycare.
What I am looking forward to? Holidays with family! Aunties are coming home for thanksgiving and Everett is beyond excited. His birthday party is this weekend, my birthday is the weekend after, it's almost time to put up the lights and play christmas music until our ears fall off.....ahhh....I love this time of year!
Milestones: Depending on your calendar/calculations, this can mark the beginning of third trimester (there's a surprising amount of debate about this). Baby has a 80-90% chance of survival now outside the belly, but we'll keep him in there for a while yet.
Total weight gain/loss: Haven't weighed recently...probably 18-19 lbs.

26 weeks
How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Counting when I've had breakfast, I am guessing around 18 lbs.
How big is baby? Head to heels, he should be about 14 inches long and weight about a pound and two-thirds. The size comparison is an english cucumber this week (which are much bigger than our typical little garden cucumbers).
Maternity clothes? Pants. Still getting away with maternity tanks under regular shirts to get a fashionable little layered look and stretch my wardrobe. I do think I might need another pair of yoga pants (I dreamed I ripped a hole in mine!) and a couple maternity sweaters.
Stretchmarks? No new ones that I've seen since the last.
Sleep? Decent. I've been really tired again, but my iron looks ok, so it's just toddler and fetus wearing me down. Everett has been doing better with not getting up in the middle of the night, but he was up at 2 am again this morning and threw a fit for about a half hour including slamming his door and screaming because Brian only let him snuggle with us for about five minutes.
Best moment this week? Being done with the glucose tolerance test. Gosh do I despise that thing. At least this time the drink was carbonated. Last time I had a small cup of thick goo. This time it was a bottle full of orange-pop-like substance.
Movement? Constant. He has started kicking on my right side, so I'm hoping he's getting himself into a better position. His moves are big and violent and he really dislikes it when I tuck my legs up close to my belly. Then I lecture him for kicking me. So he does it some more. It's a vicious cycle.
Food cravings? Nothing's sticking out to me at the moment. Still enjoying cranberry everything.
Bellybutton? Can I just ignore this question from now on?
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Nope.
What I miss? Energy and being able to carry Everett around with little effort.
What I am looking forward to? Getting some knitting done. I'm done (except some finishing touches) on Everett's new longies and now I'm about halfway done with his new winter hat. Then I have to do his mittens, a few gifts, and then I can start on baby stuff.
Milestones: Glucose done and good. Iron done and good. Next dr. appointment is in four weeks and then we're on to the every two weeks appointments - eek! Down to the double digits for days left!

25 weeks
How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think I may be up around 18-19 lbs now (dr. appointment is on Monday)
How big is baby? Head to heels, he's around 13 1/2 inches long. Weighing in around 1.5 lbs, or the size of a rutabaga. Also gaining some fat! The little muffin, not me. Shush.
Maternity clothes? Yep. And my new pretend uggs. I am in love with them and they rarely come off my feet at work or out and about (I always take off my shoes!).
Stretchmarks? Yep.
Sleep? Well. Everett learned how to open his bedroom door. You can guess what that means for our sleep. The past two nights, he has woken up somewhere between 12 and 2 am and I hear a THUMP! (feet hitting floor), pad pad pad (23 month old feet shuffling), mama! (little face next to my face). The first night I just let him hop in bed with us and he slept ok until around 6. Last night was a wiggle fest and we then had about 45 minutes of screaming at the top of his lungs (the kind of screaming that makes my eyes go wide because I just KNOW he's going to make himself puke if he continues) as Brian put him into his new big boy bed and he tried to come back out and hop in our bed. He eventually went to sleep, Brian and I slept until my alarm went off, and when I opened his door this morning, he was sitting in a cute little pile on his big bed and said "hi mama!" As long as he stays in his room tonight, sleep should be ok.
Best moment this week? We met our doula! She is fantastic and really puts my best interests first. I am so happy that she is going to be there to help me get the birth experience I want and advocate for me when I'm too exhausted to do so.
Finally got the nursery painting all done (still haven't taken a picture though...).
Movement? Yep. He's still kicking low, so my new friend, Erica the doula, has me doing an exercise where I lie on the floor and put my legs straight up against a wall for five minutes/day. This encourages little dude to put his head downward and kick me in the ribs like his big brother always did.
Food cravings? Does halloween chocolate count?
Bellybutton? DADT
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? Nada, just those pesky braxton hicks
What I miss? Lying on my belly.
What I am looking forward to? Being done with the glucose test (next Mon), buying a carseat, finishing Ev's new longies, so I can start on his new winter hat and then tiny baby things!
Milestones: Meeting the doula was great. By profession, she is a massage therapist and specializes in prenatal massage. Awesome? Yes. After our one hour chat on Monday, she immediately assigned me to drink a whole lot more water than I have been (I'm really bad), walk every day, do my flip the baby exercise, and try eating more molasses and leafy greens to get that iron so I don't end up anemic again and on those stupid pills. We are meeting again next month and she'll bring along her back-up in case I go into labor during her workday. Both of them have little kiddos and might bring them along to play with Everett next month. I am so excited that I get the opportunity to have a doula help me out this time! Hooray!

24 weeks
How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: around 16 lbs
How big is baby? Baby gained around 4 oz since last week! He's just over a pound and and almost a foot long - about the length of an ear of corn, but skinnier!
Maternity clothes? Yessir! Ordered two more maternity tanks so I can continue wearing my non-maternity sweaters and shirts layered over them. Also got my pretend uggs from Old Navy and I am kind of in love with them.
Stretchmarks? Surrounding the bellybutton.....grrr...
Sleep? It's ok at the moment. Fewer bathroom trips and I'm starting to figure out how to keep the body pillow ON the bed at night.
Best moment this week? All the halloween parties were pretty great. Ev enjoyed it and my and baby's costume was a hit. Still seeing Ev give his baby brother huggers and kisses - he's such a sweetie! He even picked out a pumpkin bucket from wal-mart for baby (10 cents my friends, 10 cents!)
Movement? All the time! He's still kicking me really low, leading to my assumption that he still thinks his head belongs upright.
Food cravings? Cranberries! We had a harvest potluck with cranberry sauce, and then I needed to make some cranberry sauce (SO easy! Boil 1 c. water and 1 c. sugar, add 12 oz cranberries, boil for ten minutes!), and I adore drinking cranberry juice/seltzer - you're awesome Janelle! You must suggest this to all pregnant women!
Bellybutton? We're not on speaking terms.
Boy/Girl? Triathlete in training little boy
Labor signs? Nope
What I miss? Starting to have trouble bending and leaning while sitting on the floor. Belly's starting to get in my way.
What I am looking forward to? Still getting that nursery done... Being done with glucose test (mid-month)
Milestones: Viability, baby! That's right. With technological advances, 24 weeks is now considered viability as long as you have a good NICU. Craziness! We'll keep this little guy cooking for quite a while yet though. I don't need a newborn over Christmas again...February 1, I will allow.

23 weeks
How far along? 23 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: around 15 lbs
How big is baby? A little bigger than 11 inches long and a little more than a pound. This week's fruit is a mango. Which makes me want a smoothie. But then I remember it is a crazy wind/rain/who knows what storm outside.
Maternity clothes? Yep. Still wearing some non of course, like today's outfit of leggings and a sweater dress. Ordered two new tanks from old navy and scored a pair of jeans (and another pair I'm going to convert) from goodwill this weekend.
Stretchmarks? They're here. And I hate them. With Ev, they stayed pretty much out of my sight. Not this time. sigh.
Sleep? I was so excited to have the entire bed to myself last night and what would you know, I slept like crap. The world is a cruel cruel place. I toss and turn all night and wake constantly. And it's only going to get worse.
Best moment this week? I got a new couch!!!! Mmmm....it's lovely. Oh, about the baby? Umm....the giant kicks that are starting to be not painful, but not tickly. Oh, and Everett learned to say his own name! If I ask, "what is your name?" he says "Ev-rett!"
Movement? See above.
Food cravings? Surprisingly, still into salads (odd since I was horribly repulsed by them from 1st tri up until about a month ago). Chocolate this week....wonder what is triggering that??? Evil halloween commercials.
Bellybutton? I am blaming it for the developing stretchies.
Boy/Girl? boy
Labor signs? No
What I miss? Sleeping comfortably all night.
What I am looking forward to? Getting the nursery painting done (very very close now), moving Ev into a twin bed, and getting the changing table, futon, chair, and crib in the nursery.
Milestones: Baby can now hear loud noises. Time to stop yelling so much?

22 weeks
How far along? 22 weeks. Seriously, is this pregnancy flying by as fast for everyone else?!
Total weight gain/loss: 14 lbs
How big is baby? Somewhere around 11 inches long and a full pound. This week baby is as long as a spaghetti squash! How seasonally appropriate!
Maternity clothes? We're not going to discuss the latest ebay fiasco (ahem...capris are NOT jeans). Still loving living in my (ebayed) maternity yoga pants, and yes, I wear them to work. I need to get some more maternity tanks to wear under all my winter shirts.
Stretchmarks? I fear their coming.
Sleep? So so. I need to get a new body pillow because mine is all lumpy.
Best moment this week? All the new words Everett is saying (dark, house, towel, tire, back, green beans, etc.), and that he discovered pockets. I am a bit worried for my washing machine. Hearing another doctor's visit approval of the whole shebang. Everything is going absolutely great.
Movement? Everett wasn't feeling well on Monday and laid on my belly. Baby brother thought that was uncalled for and kicked him. A lot.
Food cravings? I may have made a triple chocolate fudge cake on Monday. It was fish late last week and salad yesterday.
Bellybutton? you know.
Boy/Girl? dirt, noise, pockets full of matchbox cars, rocks, and frogs.
Labor signs? Nope.
What I miss? Laying on my tummy
What I am looking forward to? My video monitor getting here. Finishing painting the new nursery.
Milestones: Got the nursery mostly painted this weekend!

21 weeks
How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: around 13 lbs
How big is baby? Ultrasound measured him in at 15 oz. His measurements put his due date two days earlier, but at this point, we'll just stick with 2/23. Your generic baby would be about 12 ounces and about 10 1/2 inches long. This week baby boy is the length of a carrot!
Maternity clothes? I'm still wearing lots of non-maternity shirts and my maurices jeans, but it's getting to the point where the jeans aren't super comfy all day and some shirts are starting to ride up too much. Just ordered two pairs of jeans off ebay, so hopefully those will fit and expand my wardrobe.
Stretchmarks? nope
Sleep? The middle-of-the-night-leg-cramps have returned. I hate them more than anything in the world. I toss and turn all night and whilst straightening my left leg around 3 am, it cramped. Oh, it cramped. The kind of cramp that fully awakens you and makes you say a bad word and forces you to attempt to breathe normally and stretch the cramp away but it doesn't do any good. Other than these evil evil cramps, sleep has been good again.
Best moment this week? The ultrasound was pretty great. Still can't believe there's a penis there though. Also, my gramma came to visit and I got to do some shopping, black catting, and visiting with her. She hadn't yet met Everett and he loved her!
Movement? Oh yeah. The ultrasound tech and her intern had some trouble getting measurements because little bug was twisting, turning, flipping, and moving all around. They asked if he always moves this much. Yep. Whenever I sit/lie down. Another mountain biking/running/triathlete baby on the way.
Food cravings? Brian and Everett made apple pies on Saturday. Mmmm.... Yesterday I really wanted a pb&j for some reason.
Bellybutton? blech
Boy/Girl? BOY! What the heck?! I was so sure it was a girl. The crafty side of me is a bit disappointed...there were a lot of cute things I wanted to sew and knit. But I am so excited to have another boy. We already have all the clothes we'll need, just a few diapers to add. Everett is going to have a little brother to play with and hang out with forever. I always wanted boys, so really, this is great. I love being a boy mommy.
Labor signs? Nope, just braxton hicks.
What I miss? Drinks with friends
What I am looking forward to? Buying new diapers! Blues, greens, yellows, oranges, stripes, dinosaurs, trucks, argyle....
Milestones: Ultrasound done! Leg cramps from hades. Big, constant moving.
