He hears everything

We've recently realized that we have to be very careful about what we say around Everett because the boy hears everything.  Lyrics to songs on the radio, snide remarks, comments you'd rather he not hear...
He also surprises me with little grammar nuances that he catches.  Like today when he was pretending to be a puppy and needed to get in bed for naptime.  I said, "that puppy had better get in bed or she's not going to get any hugs. " (Habit.  All the dogs in our family are female.)  Everett kind of looked at me funny and broke character to ask,  "I a girl?! "  Oops.   :)
So yeah,  if you're around the two year old,  just kind of watch what you say, eh?

Ending August

I know it's been a long time since I posted a meal plan and that's because I haven't really been planning.  We've been busy with cookouts, eating with family, camping, etc. and haven't been doing a lot of planning and cooking. As August ends though, we are back to our regularly scheduled programming.  Last night we had to eat up leftovers, including this awesome salad I had made for lunch: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/recipefinder/peach-cucumber-barley-salad-recipe-ghk0811

Now it's time to make a shopping trip and get to work.

1/2 Year

I will refuse to accept it no matter how many times people tell me, but apparently Callum is now 6 months old.  A half a year.  And 19 pounds!  Where is my baby?!?!?  Seriously, this is unfair.

Lapse in blogging

Has it actually been 10 days since I last posted?  Wow!  I just haven't had much to write and pictures have been getting uploaded to facebook.  I still don't have much to say, but here are some pictures.
Everett wearing Callum's 6-12 month shorts
The crew about to head off into the hills
Kids watching ducks and geese
Atop a big rock with a baby on my back
My boys playing together
I just love this squishy little face
And this one
And isn't two even better?
At the park this morning trying out my new wrap
What?!?
This boy is always trying to eat grass!
Swinging
This kid...
Callum's first swing ride.  Love it.  Compare to Everett at about the same age:
