My honey
I need to try to get this on video because the way Everett says it is just to die for. Apparently I call him "honey" a bit because now if I ask him, "are you my baby/sweetie/peanut/lovey/etc.?" he says "noooooooo" to each one and then says, "HONEY!" Then I say, "oh, you're my honey!" and he repeats it and snuggles me. The tantrums may be horrible, but this boy is too cute.

Poor Everett
So the past week or so has been full of whine-iness (yeah, word problem there) and fussing and not eating and a fever and anything else you can imagine for dear little Everett but I'm pretty sure he's not teething. It turns out, he has developed cold sores (herpes simplex). The poor boy has sores on his tongue, lips, and corner of his mouth and has just been horribly sad. Incidentally, this coincides with the start of going to daycare. So that makes me feel like a nice, protective, caring mom, but there's not much I can do now. We just have to wait for the sores to go away and then hopefully we'll be able to brush his teeth again and he'll eat something other than cheese and carnation instant breakfasts.
It helps that he's been less stressed this week since daycare was on vacation and he's spent two days (counting today) with grandpa (kuh-puh, as he says). Wednesday, he was happy as a clam to be arriving at grandma and grandpa's with all the dogs, cats, and horses. I hope he just feels better soon and gets back to being his happy, rambunctious self.
We borrowed a book from the library about a little rabbit that is going to get a new baby, but it's not the best, so if anyone has a favorite "new baby in the house" type of book, let me know. I need to get an amazon order together. Also any recommendations for books/DVDs about potty training. I think there's an Elmo one out there that would go over well.

16 week, 1 day belly pic
The first one this pregnancy. Oops. You know, things just got in the way. Camera battery needed charging, toddler needed chasing, hair needed washing.....yeah. But here it is!
And for funsies. Here I was at 16 weeks, 4 days with Everett:
See a slight difference? Yeahhhh, me too.

16 weeks
How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still at around 10 lbs
How big is baby? About 4 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 ounces. This week's fruit is an avocado. Yum!
Maternity clothes? Even some shirts were riding up today.
Stretchmarks? nope
Sleep? Well, I've determined that sleeping in a tent with a toddler is no fun. Still sleeping ok at night myself except for congestion.
Best moment this week? Surviving camping in the bitter cold with the whole family.
Movement? Could have sworn I felt something right at 15 weeks but not again. Soon!
Food cravings? Liverwurst. It had to be had for Tuesday's lunch. Or else.
Bellybutton? ick
Boy/Girl? no proof either way
Labor signs? No
What I miss? Clothes that fit properly. Not too big, not too small.
What I am looking forward to? Appointment at the end of the month!
Milestones: If we had an ultrasound now, we'd know boy or girl!
