Week 19

I am amazed that I am still doing this. haha.  Here we go again!

May 3: What does a 3rd time mama do with baby when she needs a shower?  Sets him on the bath mat.  He likes it there.
May 4: My bed in the morning
May 5: After messing up his third outfit for the day, we went with diaper and blanket only.
May 6: After being in Duluth on Monday to look at houses, I had been home for a half hour when our realtor called and asked if I could come back that night.  I said no, but made another trip in the morning to see a house that just came back on the market after being pending.  Long story short, we have put in an accepted offer on it and now are setting up all the inspection appointments and might very well be moving next month!

May 6 again: This baby likes his purring kitty.  The cat will stay if you pet her.
May 7: Last day of Smart Start class and Callum actually listened a bit!
May 8: Frozen yogurt date after school
May 8 again: Sometimes, the nuk isn't necessary.
May 9: one day shy of 4 weeks and this dude is just living life.

Lachie weight check

I think it's been every time now that we've run into a little concern about newborn's weights.  Everett was the most traumatic one, losing a pound within 9 days of birth, a bad latch, etc.  I honestly don't remember if Callum ever lost much.  Lachlan was a tiny concern for a little bit.
He was born at 7 pounds, 14 ounces.  At 3 days, he was all the way down to 7 pounds, 6 ounces.  At this point, he should have started putting on weight, but at ten days, he was only at 7 pounds, 8 ounces.  Since that wasn't quite what we were expected, our midwife decided she would come back four days later to check again.  Now babies are SUPPOSED to be back at their birth weight by two weeks.  Obviously Everett was not, I think Callum was.  It was pretty clear to me at this point that Lachlan would not.  We were hoping to see him at 7 pounds, 10 ounces today.  So I drank tea, made lactation cookies, and had some pale ale in those four days to try and up my supply and made sure he was nursing frequently.
Today's weigh in?  7 pounds, 12 ounces!  We did it!  Only 2 ounces shy of birth weight and he gained an ounce per day this week.  We will take it.  :)

Week 17

April 19: Easter Egg hunt in northern WI....
April 20: We did a little DIY photoshoot of this guy
and I managed to get a decent one of all three!
April 21: First day alone all day with all three.  We managed story time and an afternoon walk in the sunshine.
April 23: yes, I skipped 22...  Sleepy baby
and alert baby!
April 24: we tried to give L his first bottle.  He really wasn't entirely sure WHAT to think of that situation...
April 24 again: if ever this boy is fussy, lying on mama's chest makes everything better.
April 25: First big car trip to Duluth to look at houses
April 25 evening: Relaxed baby is relaxed.
